| Do not be tempted by the lowest fees or highest potential rental. Ask for guidance as to the rent being paid on similar properties in the area and ask what level of demand is in the local area for properties such as yours. |
| Ensure that the agent is a member of a professional body and that they offer "client money protection" and "professional indemnity" insurance. This demonstrates professionalism and experience and ensures high levels of service. |
| Finally, we recommend landlords check their contract with the agent, specifically the fees that are paid, the services provided and importantly what your responsibilities are. |
